James Steven Beverly Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Well, have NO idea what happened but here's the body of the message again, hopefully it won't double post: I just got this lens kit I just got and it was so unusual it got me to thinking is there an equivalent Western Macro lens kit made be Zeiss or Cooke to my Soviet kit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=020 If so how much would one cost? Like I said, I'm just curious but I did a little quick research and didn't see anything. Anyone know of any? Thanks-Steve
Premium Member Guest User Posted December 6, 2008 Premium Member Posted December 6, 2008 Hey Steve The page isn't opening. Cooke never made macro lenses as far as I know, Arri did a full set, from 16mm to 200mm.
James Steven Beverly Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Oh sorry Max, I bought these a while ago so the ad probably was retired but here some pics: Do you know what the Arri kit goes for? This kit came with a 22mm, 35mm, 65mm and 90mm which seems a bit of an odd selection but for macro photography it might be perfect.
Premium Member Guest User Posted December 9, 2008 Premium Member Posted December 9, 2008 Don't think they are made anymore, so you'd have to get a 2nd hand one and that'll still cost you way more than this Russian set ;)

These barrel mount (no focusing threads) lenses are very similar to the Zeiss Luminars which were also designed to be used with bellows or extension tubes.
James Steven Beverly Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 What would a set like this in Zeiss Luminars run?
James Steven Beverly Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) Oh wait a minute, I see. The Luminars are still camera lenses BUT you're right the design looks very similar just much smaller. Edited January 5, 2009 by James Steven Beverly
