Matt Pacini
Speilberg's short film - Amblin. Is it possible to see it? I've heard and read about it for decades, seen small snippets, but never seen (or known anyone) who has actually seen the whole short. Supposedly, it's this masterful semi-masterpiece (the way it's always described), and yes, I'm sure it's very dated, but is this a case where Speilberg is never going to let the actual film out there to destroy the myth surrounding it? It had a pretty damn good budget, especially for that time - $25,000. Hell, that's a good budget for a 22 minutes short TODAY! If it's online somewhere, please post the link! Alex Lindblom
It's available on both Google video and vimeo, the vimeo quality seem better so Amblin here you go.
Brian Rose
I'd love to be the guy who recovers "Firelight," his first feature. As the story goes, he loaned the one copy to a producer as a work sample. The producer ran off, and Spielberg was left only with a few clips and excerpts, which are the ones usually seen on docs about him. Man, wouldn't that be the best "foot-in-the-door" with him, if you found that film?
