Motion control data

Recommended Posts

I know for sure its possible with the supertechno technodolly - most other systems will have some form of it also, it really makes the system that much useful, and if you're capable of building a rig that can be programmed in a 3D program pre-vis or at least keyframe type process then getting an output like you're wanting is probably trivial (although time consuming I'm sure )

Anyways with the technodolly both the programmed move and also the option of a real time output from the encoders (the data is translated into the the spatial/coordinate system of the camera also, which makes things easier) - even when you are running it in manual/free mode ...

Its no longer matchmoving - it is the actual camera data

What is nice about some systems is that the initial move can be completely manual, or programmed and manually overridden (the head for instance) - and then the data taken from that pass and applied to further takes ...

If you wanted to comp plates and one was tracking something unpredictable - animals, children, action sequences etc... - you'd run that pass first ...
