‘Asian producers’ lab’ @ Fantastic Film school 2011

Fantastic Film School

Fantastic Film School now starts receiving applicants from April 18th. This is a professional education program of genre cinema in NAFF(Network of Asian Fantastic Films). In the first year of this program, many experts in producing action films were invited to share their know-how with participants. The 2nd Fantastic Film School offered in-depth classes of Science Fiction genre. In 2010, it invited renowned Swiss concept designers and art directors working in Hollywood in an unremitting effort to interact with global experts.

We have titled this year’s program ‘Asian Producer’s Lab’ which will deal with new media, transmedia, micro-budget filmmaking and alternative distribution in an attempt to keep up with the rapid changes in filmmaking. Participants can enjoy team workshops led by experts in each field. What’s more, unlike the previous events in which the majority of involved participants were Koreans, we will expect promising young film professionals around the world to join the program of this year, and thus deliver all of the lectures in English.

The deadline of submission is May, 29th. An applicant must be fluent in English and have some experiences of making feature and short films or of taking part in more than a feature film production as a staff. Applicants can download an application form from the website of NAFF (http://naff.pifan.com) and submit it via e-mail (naff.ffs@gmail.com).

In 2010, ‘Swiss Design in Hollywood,’ an exhibition and master class program organized by renowned film historian Patrick J. Scheurer thrilled the participants with their wizardry and style.
