jamiep
Hi all I was just wondering about my SamCine Mk 2 Calculator and how it relates to newer video and HD lenses rather then just film lenses. Does it give accurate DOF calculations with video and HD lenses or are there formulas you can use so that it does? Not that it matters with video as much as it does with film but if the SamCine calc doesnt give an external DOF reading (for video and HD) are there calculators that do? Mitch Gross
Also known as a Sammy Wheel, this slide rule calculator has been updated with a mark 3 version which does take various size video formats and HD into account. It has five c.o.c. tolerances instead of three and an expanded nomogram on the back. You could also get the free pCam and pCine programs for a Palm Pilot that is very detailed and also programmable for any format variation you'd like.
