Hey everyone

I don't know if this belongs in this category but I will give it a go.

I will be shooting a promo for a dance performance and the plan is to shoot a set one minute choreography from around 5-8 dancers and then edit it so we cut every 5-10 frames between each one so we create a "fluid" motion with the different dancers appearing to move as one.

Until we figure out how this will work we plan to shoot with a camera in fixed position but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with something similar. As I want to do as much of this "in camera" the biggest deal is positioning each dancer on the exact same axis for each take and of course for all of them to have rehearsed the choreography tightly enough so they are as precisely timed as possible.

Beyond that I am wondering what else I could try to keep the action as synched as possible for the camera. Would tracking markers for motion matching in post be helpful?

I know this reaches beyond the scope of pure "cinematography" but any piece of advice would be most welcomed.
