reid riddell
A heads up. The blade injects a clicking noise into the audio on both the blade recording and the tape in the camerawhen powered via the anton bauer DTap adapter. You must only use an attached battery for power!
Tim Tyler
Is it a very subtle quiet ticking sound, maybe once per second? I have experience that on an HPX300 but I think it may have disappeared after a firmware update. It was unrelated to any external recording device. Have you tried powering the camera and Atomos together from a power supply?
reid riddell
Yes! Exactly! I will forward that info to Atomos. I also noticed the level of the click would increase when a mike cable was attached (weird) This is what they just wrote me after 3 week of trying to get answers: I am from the Melbourne office so am able to raise issues with the development team. The Engineers are now aware of your issue. I suspect the problem is caused by an interaction between the power supply circuits of the two devices. As far as I know this is not affecting other cameras but will require further investigation. Please do let other users of the HDX900 know about this issue so that they can avoid the problem by running off separate power supplies. If a fix is possible that will resolve this issue when using the Blade via DTAP with the HDX900 I will let you know.
