Lauchlan Ough
I'm working on a commercial piece that requires "beauty" shots of large plastic boxes. These kind of boxes would be used for shipping large amounts of chicken, fish, etc. They are roughly 4X4X4 feet, some what reflective and a light blue colour. We are most liking shooting them in a giant empty warehouse. I have to shoot 2 side by side (and then one at a time) and was thinking of using 12x12 silk over head and shooting some lights through that. Perhaps a few bounce cards on the ground. Anyone have experience with shooting these kind of boxes? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Brett Bailey
You could use something as small (scale) as a couple of Stripbank soft boxes or as large as a Fisher light. Or, depending on the aesthetic, you could also back light it through vellum. A vellum example/aesthetic (simply grabbed off the internet):http://cdn.photigy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Glass-shot-white-lectureby-alex-koloskov22.jpg Edited January 31, 2014 by Brett Bailey
Will Barber
The silk and bounce Idea sounds like it'd work. It's the same basic thing as what we used on a car commercial once. I'm guessing the issues would be similar, lighting a reflective surface.
