TOM VENESS
I need to buy a top of the range digital camera. I want to buy a Canon xm2 as i dont think my budget can stretch to a Canon XL1s. Has anyone used either one? What do you reckon I should do? Thanks
Guest Ultra Definition
The 2 top current prosumer cameras are Panasonic DVX100A for best image quality and Sony PD170 for best low light capability. Also Sony PDX is pretty good and it has sort of native 16:9 chip. In a month there will be NAB show and maybe new models will be introduced. TOM VENESS
Would you say that the XL1s and XM2s are not good cameras? Have you used them? Thank you for your time really appreciate it
Mitch Gross
I would say that they're not BAD cameras, simply that they are a generation behind the current Sony and Panasonic products. Too bad, Canon led the field at one point but didn't keep up. I consider their current products inferior and out of date.
TOM VENESS
So what are currently the best DV cameras around?
Guest Ultra Definition
I listed them for you; which you choose depends on what you want to do with it.
