Bob Hayes
Any tricks to using a three axis hot head? I am very comfortable with the two axis head on a crane and can usually nail shots on the fly with out rehearsal. But add the third axis and I am lost. Premium Member Kevin Zanit Posted May 26, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted May 26, 2005 A lot of it obviously depends on the shot. You only have two hands. The few times I have ever dealt with a 3 axis head, I just had the 2nd operate the third wheel. Maybe there is some technique I am not aware of. I have hardly ever used one. Bob Hayes
Yes a second operator is the answer for an extra hand. My problem is once the third axis starts turning the wheels respond in an uncontrollable manner.
