Guest Christopher Wedding Posted July 23, 2005 Share Posted July 23, 2005 OKAY - looking at alot of spec charts and a few discussions on here, I'm beginning to wonder what lux is and how it relates to the conversation when someone says it has a 2000 lux reading at an f8. I think this refers to proper exposure, or something of that nature...if you know a good website that explains it, that would be extra great. Thanks for your time. Shaun Joye Posted July 23, 2005 Share Posted July 23, 2005 lux is basically a metric footcandle... a footcandle is the light emitted from a standard candle at the distance of one foot, 1 lux is the light emitted from a candle at one meter. It would have been simpler if they had just called it a meter candle but they went with lux becuase of luminous flux, or some such technobabble.
