Jason Banker
Hi, I am in the market for a Super 16 zoom and have never used any of them. Which lens do you like the most and why? How important is having a zoom range over 64mm for typical feature film work? Thanks
Rik Andino
This question has been answered numerous times... You should do a search on the forum... Also check this website out: http://www.cinematechnic.com/resources/opt...r_super-16.html Personally I like the Canon 8-64 And the Converted Zeiss 10-100 They're both very sharp and yeild good images... And fairly comfortable to use. For typical Feature Film work... (the word typical is hardly ever used in film cause shoots vary) Well what typically used by most feature filmmakers is primes... Unless you're shooting a documentary Or News footage you really don't need long zoom lens for feature films... Only occasionally for special situations like those long voyueristic shots... So....a 64mm lens is good enough for S16mm... Good Luck
