  1. I have a Cinema Products GSMO package for sale or trade. 2X camera body, 2X magazine and a Angenieux 17.5-70mm T2.5 Zoom lens. Asking $1,000.

Also 16mm lenses Zeiss Vario Sonnar 10-100mm T2 MKI, Zeiss 10-100 T3 Zoom Lens and Angenieux 5.9 T2.

I am looking for 16mm Switar preset lens.

    Thanks,

    Ray

  2. Hey Ray

I really dug your music vid. The look and color treatment you gave the film was nice. Did you use an anamorphic lens adapter?

Thanks for the "gibbering horror of howard ghormley" love

Thanks for your kind words, Steve. Video was shot using standard super8 zoom lens framed for 1.85:1. Unfortunately the anamorphic lens for super8 format is hard to come by.

  3. Do you work for Pro8mm?

I have no business relations with Pro8mm. I am just pointing out that some of us student cinematographer who use super8mm as a primary format deserve a camera that works and performs the way it was originally designed, if not better. I myself have purchased super8 camera on ebay and by the time I had it serviced to a working condition I have spent just as much as buying it from Pro8mm. I am sure there are other companies out there that sell super8mm camera cheaper. Tell me do you have experience dealing with pro8mm, if so please do tell.

  4. I have done business with Pro8mm in the past and unlike others I only have praise for them. As far as I am concerned Pro8mm helped save and pushed the format to what it is right now, and for that Pro8mm earned my greatest gratitude and respect.

You can always buy your gears on ebay for a lot cheaper, but let me warn you that you are taking a lot of risk and future expenses to have the camera refurbished.

  5. I haven't actually used the Century 5.7mm, but I'm pretty sure it's a fish eye.

I had an old century catalog which had clips of 16mm film shot with their wide angles.

The Angenieux 5.9mm and the Kinoptik 5.7mm are both rectilinear.

But wouldn't a rectilinear be a better match for the zoom than a fish eye, which is curvilinear?

Can you explain to me the a difference between rectilinear and a fish eye lens.
