Hi,
I'm an owner/operator in LA. I have 2 RED MX feature packages and 2 perf 35mm camera packages available. I also have a lot of glass... Super Speeds, Ultra Primes...
I'll come out and prep the gear as well.

I have a 2 perf Moviecam SuperAmerica MKII. Can't get much quieter than that!!

If you are seriously considering 2 perf, I have a couple Superamericas with speed boxes and a Bl4 for sync sound. If your looking for lightweight or crash cams I've got a couple of 2Cs with CE bases that run up to 80fps. Or for high speed I've got a BL that'll do 100fps. Do I dare say that's the fastest 2 perf camera out there?!
Yeah they might not have all the bells and whistles as the Penelope but they are all great cameras and the resulting image is the same!
At least now you know there are other options out there that wont kill your budget.

Very original, that was hilarious. I could easily see half of America emulating that after packing this short into a 30 sec spot for some swimwear company. You make the jingle.

I don't know why you have to be so hateful. Yea, I agree there is a lot to work on, but by sitting on the side and not making any films, how is one to improve. I don't think the film was intended to win any awards, just something to do on an open weekend.
John, I doubt they were ready for industry lights and a 10amp geni, I think the home depot portable lights were fine, if that is what they want to use.
But I will admit, it was hard to watch all 15 minutes. Stay away from films this long unless you really believe you have a 15 minute story to tell.

In the end, she was just a confused little girl who needed help.

I don't know Orange well, but in Hollywood here are a few examples of small size jibs for the dvx. You can find them on their websites. Both jibs are smooth and solid. Spreader about 20-25 exra. I've only used them with an O'conner head.

take any job you get thrown your way, I've learned to stop being so concerned about my path to becoming a DP and just shoot as much as I can. In the meantime work is work, but I do believe lighting is key.
