What do you think about using a good Super 16 zoom lens, on the Sony FS7 or FS5 on 2k center "crop mode"?

It maybe a very good tool for documentry films.

My concern is about this "crop mode"...

Any thoughts which one is a better setup? 1 fujinon zoom lens or 2 Angeniuex?

Which lens do prefer?

Shooting on film the T2.1 work fine for S35, however wide open they will porthole on Digital Cameras (RED & Phantom I have tested) This also shows up on P+S Adapters. The problem is the small exit pupil of the wider lenses, they are not telecentric. Stopped down to T4 on Red and the problem goes away.

 

FWIW The diagonal of S35 1: 1.185 is not that different to Academy 1:1.37 .

Hi, can you explain more, why there is a problem with red and ps adapters? what do you mean "porthole"?

Do you know if there is a problem to use cooke speed panchro ser 2/3 with pro35 adapter p+s technik.

I have a set of this lenses, rehoused, with pl mount. When I try to use them on the pro35, I see shade around the center of the frame. are you familiar with that?

I'm getting a picture for my steadycam monitor using the sdi output.

I need to get a composite picture also for my director monitor, which is conected through a video pal transmitor.

When choosing 24 fps on camera - it doesn't work.

When choosing 23.98 fps on camera - it works.

my quastion is what frame rate should the DAT run?

so...I guess the p+s technik pro35 is still the only option to use cine lenses on 2/3 video cameras.

How come there is no competition to the Pro35? How come they are alone in this market?

or is it something I'm missing?
