Hello all, I have recently moved to the other side of the world and upon unpacking my things and setting up my Richter test bench - I noticed the small screw holding the reticle of my R2 autocollimator had loosened and that the reticle had slid out the barrel where it usually is. I put the reticle back in its place but am not sure of its exact positioning? moving it forward or backwards must obviously affect infinity. ..so basically - how do you calibrate an r2 autocollimator? I also recently purchased two richter lenses to add to my kit - obviously i am having issues with the reticle (see above) - but assuming i get the issue resolved soon - can the collimator lenses be in need of collimation themselves? ..and if so, after checking how compensate for any discrepancy? do you need to move the lenses only glass forward or back? or do you simply have to mark how far down the thread you have to screw them into their respective c-mount? I appreciate any feedback and help as to how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Heya' JD, I have looked around a bit but haven't found any info on whether or not they can be. If i do - i would definitely consider recelling them, however eitherway i plan on purchasing new ones as i cannot afford to wait that long (shipping-recelling-shipping) and because, as per in my post - i am looking for more powerfull/bigger ones.

Hi all, quick question.. After a few years of intensive use, both my Preston issued & Sony original batteries; which I use to power my HU3, have died. Am looking to purchase new ones, and remember on a multi camera shoot having worked along side another Preston user who was using the more powerful Np-qm71d and Np-qm91d batterie. I have been looking to purchase these but so far everywhere I look they are either uncontinued or out of stock. I have however found "Watson" brand versions of these; the only difference being that they are rated 7.4v rather than 7.2v. Does anybody have any experience powering their HU3 with these batteries? Any info would be much appreciated! Happy holidays!

Hey Timothy, ..Am interested also. Same question as Dave; where about's are you located? Also; ..query - is this system compatible with Lens control devices (ie. PRESTON), as is the case with cinetape? ..can the rangefinder's data be displayed on the lens controllers screen? Am having a hard time finding much info. How long have you had the system, and when was it last serviced? ..also what is the price of a new unit? Maybe a stupid question, but.. how does such a system fare in the age of digital cinema, with all the infrared contamination on CMOS sensor cameras? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm shooting an advert soon and will be using Optex 's EXCELLENCE. I was wondering if anyone had any experience pulling focus on this lens? This might seem like a strange question, its just that I haven't had the chance to see the beast yet, but from what I can tell of pictures I have seen, there seem to be no marks on the lens barrel. The optex Excellence webpage states that film accessories, follow focuses and such are compatible, yet i have seen no pictures of the lens with a follow focus. So, if anyone has ever worked with this lens, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your experiences as well as any helpful poiters/tips you may have. Thank you all very much,

I just noticed... Sorry about the error, don't know where my head was. I meant to say my camera was fitted with 'Option R' and a pellicule... not beamsplitter.

Quick question; I have recently bought a sony XC-ST50 camera module to use as a video assist on my Aaton XTR. My camera is S16 and equipped with both a pellicle and beam splitter, theefore I plan on attaching the CCD camera module to the side where the VR30 used to go. I was wondering (a part from having to machine an "adaptor" to fit the camera module onto my Aaton), if i needed any lens for the CCD camera, and if so what focal distance? Also, vis-a-vis a completely different project (although also involving video assist camera's); What focal length Lens would i need for both, 1/3" and 1/4" CCD to best match a, regular 16mm frame, shot with a 25mm f1.9 lens? Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help anwser my question. I own a Eumig C16 which I have customized abit and which I use as a stop-motion camera. I know of the two attachments for the fixed 25mm f/1.9 Eumigar lens; the Eumacronar tele and Eumicronar wide-angle attachments. First off, does anyone know where to find these two attachements and also the compatible Eumig filter-mount? I have the full set of filters. What mount are these attachements? They screw-in to an adaptor on the fixed lens which has a screw-in diameter of 27mm. Is this a common mount? Are any other lens attahements compatible? thanks

Hi, I'd be interested in only certain of your items. These would be, 1. The videotap 2. Both of the batteries, aswell as the charger 3. The mattebox rods and the Petroff mattebox*** 4. The pistol 5. and the barney I would need details about the videotap unit - ???(make/model/system/colour/B&W/PAL/NTSC/etc..)??? also to know when the batteries were last recelled, whether they're 12v or 16v? and finally to know the mattebox dimensions, how many filter trays, Is it swing away? etc... Hey, I own and operate a XTR #1495 (80's model), and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get my hands on an, amphenol "multiplug" (Something that would allow me to have more than one amphenol 9 "socket"; thus allowing me to plug in 2+ accessories at the same time.)
