Hi , i was wondering what is the difference and caracteristics between these lenses (sharp/smooth image? ....) : -cooke serie T 2.3 -cooke serie S4 T 2 (lds) -ultra prime T 1.9 (lds) what does lds means anyway ? thank you !!

Thank you! what do you mean with : lighting balloon "above (skirted) on a dimmer board" .... i know what a lightning balloon is but do you have any image for me to understand what the rest of the sentence means .

Hi to all of you , i get amazed everytime i see these videos ,like this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0VSBWsQqf8 can someone tell me exactly which units they use and were do they place them ,for example for the shot where justin is lit by upstairs and sings with this old fashion microphone..do they use fresnels ?

Hi jon , thanks a lot about the answer...but i already think about that ...don't feel obliged to answer to all the subjects in this forum, especially , (like for mine) i don't find any usefull informations in it. If one day ,you will stay in Paris for more than 3 months ,you will understand why i want to leave . Good luck in Sf

Hi everyone , I am an young cinematographer( 24 years old) and i'm quite sure that i will leave Paris for America in order to try and get a job inside the film industry , i know it's really hard (worse than Paris,i guess..) but do you have some advices to give me ? For example , which one is the best city in order to create some contacts ? i am open minded ,so tell me everything that's on your mind Thank you

Hi , i am a young cinematographer and i need your advices about lightning a club and a recording studio .How do i achieve to make a clean image like all these rap and R n' b videos? They use kino's ok .But where do they place them? Should i place my key light in the back of the singer , 3/4 face ? I know it's not that easy ,Thank you in advance :lol:

Hi everybody , i'm trying to make my way as a cinematographer , my question is do you have any tips to give me in order to make better cinematography (when you don't have access to big production's sets) ? I watch a lot of movies and read books about it ,but i feel stuck right now and i need to go ahead . B) bye Here is some of my work : hope you like -
Lighting one scene outside

If you need to re-light the scene or just for fill-light, you will need strong hmi sources like 2,5 KW minimum or 4 kw tungsten fresnel lights(cheaper) thought a frame of diffusion. Are you greek by any chance ? -

Brilliant , really good ,reminds me film noir or the 50's black&white movies , the only problem is that your light is too serious comparing to the mood of the film ,despite that point: excellent work -
