  1. While Built specifically for the AGDVX100a and a century fisheye, I have a numbr of other models available, or in the works.

It is a high quality, professional grade camera housing. Reliable, and extreemly durable, the housing is fabricated utilizing advanced technology fiber reinforced plastics, manufactured to exact tolerances.

This is Not a bulky, heavy dive housing that will have you struggling for the above water shots, but a custom made fiberglass "splash" housing. It is specifically made for shooting in the surf, the pool, or anywhere else that you may have in mind, both above and below the water. The housing weighs only 2.5 lbs!!

Please inquire for details, price, or housings for other cameras.

  2. Ok, so I recently found out that a rig that I had seen some footage from was shot with...

a helmet mounted super wide angle lens, with somesort of flexable borescope, passed down to a backpack with a small 16mm camera liek a milican or the likes.

any ideas or experience or some sort of direction to head into researching this set-up?

I would like to replicate the set-up, but have no way of contacting the one person who has done it before.

    Thanks!!

  3. I wouldn't bother with the 8mm, but thats just me. Get the 16mm a bolex spring loaded like the H16 or similar. They are super trustworthy, and can be found on e bay for a good price.

guys like alby falzon traveled all over the world with them and loved them. When they get enough money they got the higher end electrical models, which would always end up breaking down on them at some beah in bali.

Get the hand crank, film is relatively cheap, and you'll scrape some money to get it transfered...

a good call about the 8mm cameras, but if you have something like the H16, and you score some mental surf footage of North Point or something down in Margret River, You'll have some footage of true value that you can use in your production or sell at a decent price.

    just my opinion...

oh, and it does have variable frame rate

  4. depends on what you are trying to shoot.

without knowing the full details of what you are hoping to be shooting, maybe a manual windup H16 would be a great way to enter the 16mm situation.

  5. had to chime in, this is a very interesting topic for me, however for a slightly different application than the original post.

Basically I am wondering if there is a way to step up from the current POV cam set up that I am using at the moment.

the Sony 555 number hooked up to a litltle one chip sony recorder and a little battery.

I've gotten great results to match up with other 3 chip video, but am now looking to match up with dvx 100 footage or better (720, 1080?)

I can't go too big(size wise, its still POV afterall)), but can still go quite a bit larger than the current setup. I am wondering if there is a next step that I can take. A wide angle lens is critical, recording time doesn't need to be that long, so recording to a drive is possible.

Maybe some of the info you've all provided is applicable, but I've had a tough time following some of the jargin.

    THANKS!!!

    Erik

  6. So the XL2 has 24p?

but what is the difference in image resolution?

why does panasonic claim HD, (but not really HD right?)

    whereas canon doesn't?
