  1. I did something very similar last month, it wasn't a poker game, but four engineers around a table disussing. I knew we were going to dolly around the table a bit and eventually see all around the room. I just hung a china ball over the table. It lit the people around the table, but then it also spills onto the walls. It gives you a nice light on the people and then falls off a little, but not to black, and you don't have stands in the way which will help you move fairly quickly. I also placed a few practicals around the room to give depth to the room and light it up a little bit. Set up your china ball and if the background is too lit up just put a skirt on it and adjust it to your liking. Hope that helps at all. travis
  2. Thanks for the replies. I can't believe I underexposed it, but it could be possible. I didn't think high speed should have anything to do with that, sounds ridiculous, but thought I would ask. I was rating at 400ASA already. Anyway, I'll check the neg. Thanks. Travis
  3. I just saw some footage a shot two weeks ago. I did a few shots at 120fps and in the shadow areas there was very apparent noise. I hesitate to say noise, because it looks like grain, but it also looks like an underexposed neg pulled up in telecine. I am very sure I did not underexpose those shots though. Anyway, any thoughts on that? Is it common with high speed work? I shot 5279 on a 435. Travis
  4. Yeh, I talked with my rep there and we are going to look at some demos as well. I just wanted to get any advice I could get on the subject before going into it and know what's up. Thanks for the tip though John. By the way, I am really glad that you get on this site and reply so frequently. Its good to have someone who really knows his facts answering questions for us. Travis
  5. Hello all I am shooting feature in a short while and I want to bleach bypass the negative for the first reel of the film or so. We are doing our processing as well as our prints at Deluxe. We do have money for shooting tests, but not that much, so I want to be judicial in my films. I have skip bleached my neg before, but never with Deluxe and not on 35mm, so I am wondering who has suggestions on where to start with the tests. I think I should start by at least underexposing one stop and go from there. Also, I am going to test their 1/3 stop skip bleach on the negative. Does that mean, as I think it does, that only a 1/3 of the exposure change. I mean underexpose 1/3 stop instead of a full stop? Anyway, any hints or suggestions would be great. Thanks everyone. Travis
  6. Tambien quiero decir que 25th hour es fenomenal. los colores son increibles. Lo enseno a mi clase anoche. Gracias travis
  7. I was just talking with a Kodak rep this week and I asked her why Kodak doesn't make a wider selection of print stocks and she said DP's aren't interested, which I didn't quite believe. Leads me to believe Kodak does not know it would be helpful to cinematographers to have that option. Also, David is totally right about the cost. It's terrible to have basically one choice of print stock if your show is pretty low budget. Can ask of anyone, who is best to talk to about the Agfa CP30? Thanks for the post Travis
  8. Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to do transfer on a Spirit for around $400/hr? In the Los Angeles area. Thanks. travis cline
  9. I'm going to be shooting a feature in a couple of months, most likely using a moviecam. Normally, I'd rather shoot with primes, but the director wants to do a bit of zooming in shot. Also, we are going to be doing alot of handheld work. My prime lenses will be a set of Zeiss super speeds. What suggestions do you have about which lenses will match with the superspeeds and are light. Thanks everyone. Travis Cline
  10. Vic I don't know where you put the ad, but I'd like to respond. Email me at travisclinedp@hotmail.com if you are still looking. Thanks
