How many notable 16mm films were shot in scope? The only one I've found is the Batman fan-film "Grayson" which was Super-16 anamorphic (and presented on video at full width... 3.15:1  )
now that's crazy. It was shot in 35mm Techniscope, same as 'El Topo'.The Holy Mountain, Alejandro Jodorowsky's follow-up to El Topo, was shot in Techniscope. El Topo is regular 35mm.
16mm scope to 35mm blowup

I'm producing a short film for a theater that will play as an intro before features. I'm shooting in 16mm and the prints will be 35mm blow-ups. To give my film a unique look, I really want to shoot in scope. The camera is a Krasnogorsk K-3 and I'm shooting silent. The soundtrack will be music and sound effects only, as it'll be entirely in pantomime.
Where can I find a good (but not terribly expensive) anamorphic lens that would be compatible with this camera? Since the print(s) will be 35mm, the full 2.66:1 image would obviously require cropping to 2.40:1. Would this be framed like a 35mm full aperture scope film, with the left side of the image cropped or would the blow-up process allow the 2.66:1 image to be cropped evenly on the sides?
