I actually learned a LOT from this months. Roger Deakin's article was like 8 pages and covered techniques he used on both No Country and Jesse James, it really was very insightful and he covered most of the shots I had queries over.
I found it amazing that the famous train shot was lit with literally a 5k par mounted on the train and then just the handheld lanterns the Jesse's crew had.
Also, the recent issues on Sunshine and Caravaggio - I feel Sunshine really is a photographers movie and as far as Caravaggio...well you always want to read what Vittorio has to write :)

Hey Dan,
I just left you an email with my resume attached regarding one of the positions.
Just wanted to say the stills look great!

Yes, he flicked Markus in the forehead and said "If it's not in here (hand on heart) then it doesn't matter!" Gave us a big smile and disappeared back into the crowd as we all took it in haha. He is a class act indeed :)
He pretty much explained to us that the technical aspect of photography comes so far after the interpretation and emotion you have as a cinematographer towards the story.

I didn't like the stuff at the brick wall, but I really liked the stuff at the beginning and the silhouetted shot against the white BG!
PS.. He would never get her :P
