  1. Hello all,

Samyang lens manufacture has announce that they start to sell the mark II version that cost more then the mark I, they claim that the mark II has a few changes that justify the price increasing, does anyone has tested the new lenses and can confirm this argument?

    Thanks, Yaron Harel.

  8. Hello all,

we just receive our new Panasonic AF-101 camera, we tested it under lab condition to figure it out the camera abilities and we want to discover if there is some "secrets" that we not found yet, our vision is that those cameras will replace the DSLR cameras and right now it doesn't seems it will can.

Thanks a lot, nice day to all, Yaron.

  9. Thank you Stephen and David,

I'll try to explain it in better way, the problem occurred just when we shoot on Canon D5, the camera is connected through the HDMI connector to converter that convert from HDMI to SDI from the converter we stream it to another converter that convert it once more to composite so we can steam it to the viewfinder and from the SDI converter we stream it to SDI monitors, the picture on the camera LCD is cut at the moment we connect the HDMI and that is all right, the problem occurred only on D5 and on record, while pausing the picture is appear again, I think that Stephen's answer is close that the converters isn't fast enough to process such information capacity.

    Nice day, Yaron.

  10. Hello all

we are working with 5D/7D install on MovieTube rig monitored via two format converters HDMI to HD-SDI and then HD-SDI to composite,at the moment the cinematographer start to record the picture is vanished from the monitors, is it some wrong setting on the camera or there is nothing to do about it.

    thanks, Yaron.

  11. Hello Stephen,

First of all thank you for your reply.

secondly, did the shooting was for commercial perception movie or something else, and another question on what screen the material was projected?

    thanks again,

    Yaron.

    Hi,

I shot with a Weisscam HS2 last week, probably the first time I have ever shot on digital & felt the project benefited by doing so! I was in a studio so could control the lighting. We used the HD workflow rather than RAW (as recommended by Weisscam), output was recorded to highly compressed HDCAM, the producer owned a machine!

A search may find my opinion on the Phantom which I tested 2 years ago, & Mitch's comments on my experience.

    Stephen

  12. Hi all.

Can anybody can tall me something about those two cameras the Weisscam and the Phantom as hight-speed cameras, is there one better, benefits about media, operating, and so on.

    thanks, Yaron Harel.

  13. Hi all

My question is, we have a clip that shoot on AG-HPX2700 and between the 6Th and the 7Th frames ther is like black partition, the TC is keep runing and the sound also the partition is only in the picture.

In this clip ther is a pass between two card but it is in another place, we don't know yet if it's appear in the postproduction NLE systems.

    Regards,Yaron Harel.

  14. Hi all.

we attending to purchase the new 18-85mm F2.8 lens, is there any opinion on this lens comparing to other similar lenses PL mount in optical POV did someone made a test on this lens and compare it to lenses like Zeiss, angenieux etc' and can give us an objective opinion.

    Thanks, Yaron.

  15. Sounds like the old infrared problem.

Invisible infrared light from the flames might be reflecting off the smoke and fumes.

Your eyes don't see it but the camera does.

    Are they using NDs?

If so, the problem is that most NDs were only designed to reduce visible light, since until single-chip cameras came along, most cameras did not pick up infrared.

If this is the problem all they can do is either get better filters or a hot mirror, or use the lens iris to reduce the exposure and live with the large depth of field.

    Thanks Keith.

first, i meant shot of course not shut.

secondly, yesterday night i figure out that it might be the old problem of refracting infrared light I'll suggest the crew to try use ND's filter and see if it can help.

    thanks for the advice, Yaron.
