  1. Four days for free is asking for a lot, unless its an amazing script, offers unique technical opportunities, etc. Why are your fellow student working as crew on this? The question I frequently ask NYU and Columbia Film students is, "You can somehow afford $25,000 for tuition, why can't you pay experienced people in the field at least $100 a day?"

I pay less than that for tuition and manage it with student loans and a scholarship, and I still just barely make it. However, I am in production right now and going crazy that I won't have enough crew to finish it. If you know anyone who might be interested in working grip/electric, I'm offering $30 for tonight, otherwise $20/day. I know it's not much but at least it covers gas, and I do offer great food on set. I just don't have any more to give. I can't wait for the day I actually have a budget that pays people well for their work. However, the script truly is amazing, and the shots we got last night blew me away...something that I truly hadn't felt with my other shoots.

If you have any ideas where I can find grip/electrics willing to work for this, please let me know 787-449-7000. Thanks!

  2. I am a student at the New York Film Academy (MFA in Filmmaking Program) and I will be shooting my thesis project Aug 16-30th. I need a sound operator/designer (how involved you want to be and what credit you want is up to you). It's very small budget, so there is no compensation offered, aside for credit. The story is of a recovering alcoholic who is trying to get his family back. He will more likely be shot at the end. ...and there is a party scene. If you are interested, please shoot me an e-mail: annettebigles@yahoo.com

    Thanks!

  7. Around Feb-Apr 2011, I will be heading on over to Puerto Rico to film my thesis film (MFA). It is a Suspense Thriller and it will be low budget (approx. 100k-200k), but it's very exciting since it will have motorcycle chase, subway scenes, car hit and run, amazing locations, etc. The project will be filmed in 4 weeks so everything needs to be planned to perfection so we can have fun. Probably RedCam, but I'm open to suggestions if you are better experienced in a different format.

If you are interested. Please let me know what formats you are most experienced in, salary expectations, and link to your reel. Plus, any other info you feel relevant. If you prefer, you can also send hard copy to:
