  1. Tim, Yes, I believe I understand what you are saying. However, the BBB lists complaints from consumers, critics rate restaurants and films, and the internet is flooded with rating sites. I feel it's pretty common in our society. I just wanted to get a feel for what type of business it is since I know nothing about it and hopefully someone else does. I found a fantastic Hasselblad repairperson by asking about him on a forum. There was an overwhelming positive response and I disregarded the one or two negative responses. So, if a few people say good things, or describe what sort of establishment the place is, then that's helpful to me. But next time I will try to ask a question in a different way so that it doesn't sound "loaded." Thanks, James
  2. I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with Pro Video and Film Co., Inc. in Dallas, Texas (www.ProVideoFilm.com). I'm interested in an Eclair they have and also an S16 conversion (which they claim that they can do). I did a search here and on other forums and came up empty. Thanks for any input. (I know there's George right here in Culver City, and other places in LA, but I'd like to know something about these people). Thanks!
  3. I'm selling a Panasonic HVX200 that I purchased new from Birns and Sawyer in Hollywood in July 07. Included is a 16GB card (also bought new from B+S), a brand new Porta Brace DVO-2U bag, Varizoom VZ RockPZFI lens controller (brand new, never used), DVTec DV MultiRig (brand new, never used, bought from Alan Gordon in Hollywood), Anton Bauer Elipz 10K battery and charger (brand new, never used --one of the Panny rebate items at the time), Barry Green's HVX book (also a rebate item) and his DVD series (which I bought new), and a few other extras. The camera and card have about 15 to 30 minutes on them. That's it. Really. Everything's virtually brand new. I tried it out and I just don't think I can get a handle on video. The test footage looked great but it's not what I'm after. So I've finally decided that I think I have to stick with film (I'm also a still photographer still using 120 and 4x5 film); I guess at this point in life I'm just more comfortable with film. I'm open to any reasonable offers (or even some trades). I'd prefer to deal locally which means the LA, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura areas in SoCal. I can provide pics on request. I don't want to do eBay with this, but I do have a 100% rating there (triplenine182).
