I am currently using this camera with a standard rubber belt , but need to know were to get the original type
for a Frezzolini LW-16, this camera use a belt similar to the CP16.
Any advice will be apreciated.

nice
no flicker - even at 2fps mismatch?
are you keystoning or what method are you using please?
obviously the tones are altered, but that always adds a charm i find
musical inspiration from the 50's? - lovely strings
bests

hi Ric, I project the film in a white cardboard about 5x5 inches and focus a miniDV cam.
the trick is the variable speed argus projector set at about 20fps video is at 29.97 but
20 fps makes desapear the flicker also the projector has a 5 blade shutter so that helps
a lot. After that some video edit and framing helps.
best regards,
Rolando

Looks pretty soft. The 1012 has a sharp lens and that transfer isn't doing it justice.
absolutely right , home transfers is no justice for 8mm.

Thanks , this is the same movie but using 3ccd and some sony vegas color alterations:

problem is the projector pressure plate and some auto focus errors in video camera.

or his projector lens?
generally associate super sharp visuals to video which i find hard on the eye - i much prefer the softer imagery aforded by photographic emulsion
;)

Camera Elmo 1012 super 8mm
transfered by a cheap panasonic gs-33
Only problem was the projector lens:

LA7200 works very nice on my 1014 , in post I just set the final render to 16x9 and you get flat widescreen.
Minimal light loss only 1/3 asa push using tungsten filter.
I also try the cinemascope lens from a 16mm projector and get a 2.66:1 in daylight and looks very well.

Hello to all super 8 fans, I found a new item to my super 8mm collection , an Elmo 1012 xl near mint condition
for $140.
Someone has shoot with this type of camera?
It looks very impressive.

Thanks.

Hi ! , actualy I take a wide shoot (no zoom) using the rubber hod of the Canon lens (it grabs pretty good)
no focus problem at all, then I push the zoom all the way an shoot a flower using a tripod , I get very clean picture
without any lens aberration , just one thing to know open you aperture at least 1 stop to compensate for light loss.
Process your film , make a professional telecine transfer to AVI format and post in 16x9 at the computer editor software.
You will get a nice widescreen super 8mm film.
I am planing to make an adapter support for it to allow easy focus on diferent cameras.
Cheers,
Rolando

That is right , Century has a little more correction on the borders , but for the final
resolution in 8mm is not perceptible.
The 8mm film can show about 800 lines this lens is for aspect ratio basicaly it will not increase
any resolution at all.
I also have tested a Century on a Minolta.

Who has the amiability to tell me please what kind of optical capabilities and image quality has CHINON PACIFIC 12 SMR SUPER 8mm Movie Camera?
Hi , super 8mm is not a HD frame ratio you will have to use an adapter like this to get the 1.78:1
aproximation ratio. About the camera I canot tell because I haven't use a Chinon yet ,but it looks
like is a good camera.

Rolando,
Great application but I was wondering how do you keep the LA7200 straight when focusing without support bars? Or do you just manually straighten it out after focusing?
Hi Will! , yes for now I have to hold the adapter until focus is ok but it doesn't cause so
much problem if I were to shoot below 40mm , it definitly works, I know you now that...
-
Looks trick! Can you show us any frame grabs?
thanks!
I just send a test film to the lab.
Check this:
-
how can this work correctly when attaching a Lens to a Lens?
The LA7200 is not a standard lens system is a front atachment for standard lens system
is only an horizontal compressor cilindrical lens.
this is an example for a cinemascope adapter:
-
What is an LA7200?
Can you zoom with the camera???
The LA7200 is the anamorphic 1.5x use un digital video cameras like Sony & Panasonic.
Yes you can use the entire zoom range and the macro also.
when super 8mm is transfered to digital you can pull the image to 1.78:1 ratio like HD.
-
I probably have the same problem in a Canon 1014 , the film counter shows 50ft but the
cartridge is not at the end and also found some pull down claw marks in the emulsion
like if the film were lock in the aperture window. I hope kodak is aware of this.
By the way I'm starting to use more the double 8 system for me is more stable than super 8
because of the presure plate and there is 4 diferent stocks available to chose.
-
It Works! the LA7200 excellent and crisp focus.
-
Very nice, what type of lighting was used ?
some kind of arc? for backlight.
64T looks good!
Super 8 transfer to HD
