  1. Hello , after waiting 8 weeks for Cinelab to process one tri-x super 8mm and 1 plus-x super 8mm and with a worksheet that expecificaly state to transfer to dvd the plus-x roll not the tri-x, I recieve the package with the tri-x transfered in the dvd and a $99.00 charge. I also made 5 diferent calls to Cinelab asking for status of the work and all I recieve was diferent excuses. I was expecting a more professional treatement from Cinelab. I will never use this lab for my films.
  2. Hi, check this link http://fiston.production.free.fr/super8/cam6008/cam6008.htm I'm still waiting for results from Cinelab...
  3. Hi Freya, the lens is Angenieux reflex zoom.
  4. Hello, this is my last resurection from ebay $68. rebuilt and ready for B camera. problem: lock shutter. solution: cleaning and oil lens: mint!
  5. Don't worry! this is my B camera... for lip sync I use the super quiet and extra lubed Frezzi!
  6. Hi, it focus on all zoom positions , this lens is form by 2 elements only, a big square front cylindrical element and a smaller square kind of concave element in the back , it don't look like the classic anamorphics. The only thing I notice is in full zoom at maximun aperture some chromatic aberrations(very dim) in the outside border but disapears as you close iris to f4 or more.
  7. Hola Hugo, first you have a nice camera take care of it. 1-About x-rays ,film emulsions of motion picture are not as sensitive as dental plates, but if you realy care about send your film via fed-ex or ups , but will cost more. Personaly I have never lost any of my films in USPS. 2- Unless films is touch or projected in a dirty equipment or keep it unprotected, no need to clean it except before a telecine transfer and that is done in the telecine lab. Leave the cleaning to the pro's. 3-Learn how to use a manual exposure meter and you can shoot any asa you like. 4-You can project a negative ,but you will start to scratch it and your transfer will look bad. 5-Always look for the professional, at the end the final work is yours. 8mm transfers are cheap. These are my personal opinions. Take care and keep loving film!
  8. hi, well is not finish yet, the la7200 has a rotating ring that allow to keep it steady as you focus it only needs a support to hold it and at the same time allow to move back and forth. I'm working on that this week.
  9. I will shoot a short film in january with this camera , next week a will make some final test footage and post results here.
  10. I have not check with wide angles, but I'll let you know.
  11. The canon 514xls is plastic so is less dificult , 814 oldies are metal so you need some machine shop to help on this, yes can be done.
  12. Ok , this is the S8mm gate , due to the photograph angle is not that easy to see it.
  13. Hi, here is another anamorphic setup now in a Frezzolini LW16 camera. I found this baby on ebay($400) in very bad shape, but with a little love and hard work is now a full funtional 24FPS Crystal Sync. ready for action. Angenieux lens is in near perfec condition. here some photos.
  14. Hello Javier, Filma con pelicula! "video is what eyes sees...film is what mind sees" Shoot in film and forget about, blah blah blah.
  15. Thanks , good to know! I just cut one of my cameras gate and today I will shoot some film to see results. In the Canon 514xls is very simple to do.
  16. Has Anyone try this: Extend the gate area like super 16 check this http://www.friendlyfirefilms.ca/liftarticle.html
  17. Thanks Will, the anamorphic photos I show were taken from a mini DV screen so they are a pretty bad example to show anamorphic quality , wait until film comes from lab then we can start a good talking on this "sharpnes issue". Basicaly the anamorphic experiment is to see if a can get widescreen without transforming to Super16. I will test diferent stocks and lighting conditions to get a broad conclusion on this. At the end some hypotesis may be true ,other simply not.
  18. Simple my friend, the bolex magazine capable cost more than $1500 on eBAY. The scoopic cost me $300 , the anamorphic came from Australia $200 and the mag. $45 on eBay I also have a beautiful bolex but I wont canibalize her... Thanks.
  19. About the magazine motor I use the same camera power 12v 7amps ext.battery and a special control circuit I made when You press the start button on the camera the magazine motor start. battery life = (can run for 7000 ft of film) looks fine for me.
  20. Thanks guys, I know that scoopic has some limitations but I'm a poor guy that can not buy an arriflex, for me the 72mm , 12.5mm to 75mm zoom and macro ring is good for my short films. I will post the finals results soon (rank telecine). I allways count on a famous quote by Albert Einstein "Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them" I'm willing to accept suggestions...
