  1. I did exactly the same thing on the same model camera as you Alessandro. An hour had passed so I couldn't correct my mistake once I realized what I had done.

I don't make a habit of it but I am getting picky with age.

Situations can occur where the deal cannot be completed and a few sellers know how to deal with it. It is life.

  2. Okay, I understand now. thank you, gary

Hi gary, im not sure what you mean to be honest.

The 4008 modification was never taken any further so its just like in the picture.

The 5008 on the otherhand was already modified to take an XLR connector.

Basicly the 5008 battery consists of 3 Pins which fits into 3 slots on the camera.

So you just solder those 3 slots together whit 3 cables leading to the three pins of an XLR connector, voila!

I dont have the 5008 anymore so i cant show any picturs of it im afraid.

Yeah the 4008 is abit more difficult, but ive seen a few good mods that should work just as good!

  3. I paid for an order with paypal for an ebay order from super8camera yesterday. I paid the $60 for express shipping-5-7 days.

Will return with info when it arrives. In the mean time, I need to order batteries and film.

Would you post a wiring diagram or explain the wiring to the minidisc and how it works?

    thank you, gary

If you need perfect sync like shooting live music or for example you don't want to mess with post lip sync you can build a pilot tone generator plugged into the Canon's flash socket and send the signal to one channel of a minidisc recorder. This is what I've done so far and I'm pleased with the results. The only bug is to carry around all those cables while using a DIY steadycam as I did. Next time I would try a stereo recording with at least a 4 track cassette portastudio. Sometimes digital sound seems too "clean" for super 8 purposes.

    Hope this helps,

    Morales.

  5. I am new to Super 8 and am searching here and there for info on cameras but I wanted to post an 8mm youtube movie i took from 1975 with a Leicina 8mm.

Telecined to dvd then ripped into a quicktime movie.

I had my dad's camera with me at the time.

  6. Nice work.

I have not shot super 8 and am looking for a camera. the canon 1018xl has caught my eye. should I consider that one as well. should I say, if I had only one, which one should I get?

    It won't do 18fps?

Shot on 5 rolls of Ektachrome and one roll each of 200t and 500t. 18fps. Canon 518.

Since this is a movie mostly about rollerblading, i was planning to shoot outdoors in bright daylight. Therefore, i was planning to shoot the film entirely on ektachrome... save the indoor profile shots and any low-light skating that may take place. I was quite satisfied with all of the footage, however the vision stock blew me away. I don't think i will ever be shooting ektachrome anymore, and instead replace it with 200t and some ND filters. I also just purchased a canon 1014xls, so no more 18fps.

Nothing more than a skate film really, but let me know your thoughts and criticisms.

    Thanks-

    Nicholas
