And also, get a good SLR (not digital) and shoot some film!

Hello, Im just about to start college and I have an interest in film. I was wondering if I want to go into the Camera area of film, what should I start out doing? Should I intern for someone on a set or just go straight into a flim loader or camera assistant? Advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
