"I want to write a movie script.

But I don’t know where to start or what the proper setup should look like. Anyone know a good institute that would show me how to write one? or if anyone knows how to write one give me some advice and tips. thank you. "

Hi dan , St michaels school is a good cinematography institute but it would be a little expensive, why don 't you consider Asia for doing your cinematography course , Asian education is considered to be the best in film making & animation and the course structure does not concentrate in one domain only , in fact Whistling Woods which is located in India is one of the largest film schools , they also help with the loans , you can always ask the counselors help to ensure you get the best .. have fun

Hey domnique, looks like you have quite an experience in this field , truly said ULCA charges a lot of money ,and 4 years is very long , but it give quality education though , why don't you try out education in Asia , the Education system in Asia is really great , in fact Whistling Woods International is a great place to study and it wold cost you less comparatively , to my knowledge they are having a two year course and also one year crash course , why don't you try over there .. here is the link ..

Hi Jonathan , i d suggest you not to learn it from your own , first you may not get it in the correct way secondly it will be time consuming and you might lose interest after sometime .. doing it from a film school will get you the right kind of exposure and getting into the industry will be a lot easier , why don't you re think on your geographic options , Asia is the best place where you can pursue your film course and it is a lot cheaper than doing it from the states , in fact why don't you try a chance in Whistling Woods International, it is one of the largest film school in Asia , and they are affiliated with all the major international colleges , take this link : http://www.whistlingwoods.net/main.asp.. have fun

Well best Way is to get him trained in a good cinematography institute as the exposure will be huge, WWI (Whistling Woods International) offers two years Course in film making and also it has a one year diploma course in cinematography, this college believes in practical approach rather than class room lectures and most of the faculty are from the industry itself so the scope is huge ... i ll give you the link try approaching the counselors desk this will help you figure out what could be the best for your son.. regards

I wish to find a better place to study cinematography aswell , But am far away from europe , I reside in west Africa and i wish to study either of cinematograhy or firm/vidoe editing ,I have the passion of becoming firm maker or music vidoe maker since i was a little boy till now , have been watching diffrent vidoe shoot in my country and it's sucks, so i want to go out there and lean and come back to my country and put my effect/stunt to make them a real vidio instead of bullshit vidoe they call firm . Anyway can anyone tell me a good school like my friend here is looking for , meanwhile i dont know anything about the firm shoot but i can design very well on corel draw and make some effect with cool 3D software . I need HELP PLS .

I'm a beginner cinematographer. I,m 23 years old. I live in Moscow, Russia.

I want to be a good cinematographer, but I don't want to work with Russian Directors, Producers, Actors... They have brain's from 80-90's years. They don't like 2.35... Almost nobody work with Digital Intermidiate May be a few years ago thew grow up, and they will make a good movie's. And what is more, they say: "I spit on picture,To me all the same as it will look on the screen! Good or Worst!"-Director.

May be I'm idiot??

But read the American Cinematographer, I see that people in USA, Canada, France, Greate Britain, Spain and other countries, work look like in my dream :blink:

I have a certificate of MOSFILM studio (cameraman level)... I was worked as Play Back, Film Loader, sometimes I work up as 2nd and 1st Asisstant, measure exposure and lighting color balance... (For 1 000-2 000$ per month (a value of Mac Book pro 15 in Russia is 3 575$) And know I have many problems with producer cause he detain my cash 4 month.

So I want to come to the USA for studying.

Please help!
