  1. from some further reading i understood that dvd has a fixed frame rate but all other digital files have their own frame rate. does this mean that i should inform the lab that they should do transfer to minidv at 18fps and then i can capture at this framerate aswell? thanks
  2. Hello. My first post here. (short intro) It is a very informative forum, I was reading all morning, it gave me incentive to look around wiki and google for useful information around super 8 and I've learned many useful info and cleared lot of questions I had for long time now. I have been an amateur photographer for years now and decided to take my chances with super8 cause I really love the feeling of film and its texture, I have a special thing with film that you might later understand. I recently got a Nizo S56 and I am already waiting for my first roll to be processed at bluecinetech in london. Anyway, I have understood some basic principles and I will be going slowly in order to expand my capabilities, but for a start I have a question. At what frame rate am I supposed to shoot since I am planning to edit digitally after telecine? I shot the first roll at 18fps. How are they going to handle the roll at the lab? I mean, I am going to receive a dvd or minidv which is 25fps (actually i have no idea how minidv goes) so that means that they will either alter the speed of the movie or convert from 18 to 25 which will add some double frames i guess. Is there something I need to tell to the lab, or the way they will handle is standard? This issue is still unclear to me, so please give me some info on what speed is best to shoot at having in mind that it will not be used for home projection but released in electronic format in the end. thanks
