I see that there are alot of questions about special effects cinematography, but since CGI is taking over alot of the special effects i was wondering if there were and sites or books that were specific to visual effects. I mainly want to know about larger scale blue/green screen shoots. (ie 40x80 blue screen lighting and large studio green screen. how to deal with spill? what kind of lights should be used... stuff like that.)

Eye

Kino-flos with 216 in front of them work great for eye lights.... you can also take the bulbs out to make different designs. A 4x8 bounce board with a light shining into it also works really well

Try and throw some kind of heavy frost over your 4k for the face... like a hollywood frost or something like that. Keep it at a distance but is should give you enough to bounce a little off of the fill side. as far as the bg goes you are going to have to fight the sun on that moving it as the sun moves which sucks but must be done. use the 1.2k as an eye light bouncing into you 6x6 frame. thoughs are my suggestions let me know what you think

Are you shooting during the day?

if so i would skin the windows with some sort of grid or ND. but that also matters if you want to see the outside or not. What stock are you shooting?

It takes a little bit to load but i think its worth it. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Also if anyone knows a way to get the video to load faster i want to keep the resolution but make it faster to view. Any suggestions on resolution settings in FCP?
