  1. Arri in their 4k+ project researched all of that sufficiently and put into practice. To pull all usable information out of S35, a 6k oversampling is needed for the 4k output. That applies both to digital acquisition and the DI/scan of a S35 negative. New generation of Arriscans 6k/4k and Alexa benefited from that research, although a decision was made to oversample 3k/2k in case of the camera--for now.

Simple math says for the current IMAX a 18k/12k acquisition/DI system is needed. To be futureproof, a 36k/24k would not be without a merit.

  2. That makes the most sense. How I was leaning anyway, maybe sometimes we ask what we kinda

already think but two strong intuitive responses like that from you guys settles it for me. Thanks.

A bit late to advise, but just as a matter of record I wonder how it came out?

My experience with comparing downconverted Varicam to DVCpro50 from sdx900 is that the latter was better.

  3. I am waiting for panasonic AF100 and was thinking of getting Zuiko Digital SHG line for it: 15-35/2, 35-100/2, 150/2.

I know the only experience with those on the 4/3 sensor can be from GH1, but nevetherless any comments, advice etc. will be appreciated.

My budget for glass is <10k, so either the Zuikos or 2-3 Zeiss CP if they make the micro4/3 adapter for them.
