  1. Any opinions here what the currently best dust busting software on the market is if there is no dust mask from the scanning stage available (program must figure out itself what is dust/speckle... and what is genuine image detail)?

Best meaning best accuracy for telling them apart and replacing faulty pixels with pixels that look 'correct' when stepping and in real time playback (no visible artifacts).

We use DVNR 2K - Dust busting and scratch removal with our custom addition to do all the work in real time. Works wonders. Built into our scanning process makes our clients VERY happy :)

  2. Hey everyone,

I just discovered this forum today, so please excuse my ignorance if this isn't the correct forum for this.

Last year, we acquired a Cinevator FIVE realtime 35mm film printer/recorder. And did very well with the local market handling 70% of all films produced here in EGYPT. But typically films are produced during certain seasons and the next line up wont being till mid-march early April.

As such we are offering a limited time discount on printing your film direct to 35mm. Starting 4000 Euros for a full feature film.

Shipping anywhere in the world no problem.

Let me know if this is something of interest.

  3. We are going to include 4K scanning to our Post Labs in San Antonio at our new studio. Very interested in installing multiple Masters and Recording systems at our new facility. Anyone have extensive experience that can comment on performance and reliability?

We have a lasergraphics DIRECTOR film scanner. If you want I can put you in touch with our scanner operator, he can give you the info you need.

  6. Hello,

I am in search of a DI place in Europe in order to scan, color and transfer a film that I shot in super 35mm. The film is a greek production which was shot in the States. Unfortunately the budget is quite low in order to pursue DI there. I await answers from ARRI in Germany as well as from DFF Finland. Does anybody know of any other DI places?

    Thank you

If you want to save a little extra and not too far.. Try Egypt. We have 35mm film scanners, a Cinevator FIVE realtime film recorder/printer, Full DI services, Lustre color grading, etc...

Drop us a line if you need a quick consultation :)

  7. Hello everybody,

I shot this year a short feature on s16mm. The short has been transferred to Digibeta, edited and color corrected. End product: Digibeta.

The film has been selected and invited to participate in the Student Competition at the Camerimage Festival in Poland.

The problem is that they ONLY accept a 35mm print of the shortfilm.

We don´t have the budget to pay for that. Does anyone have ideas about the specific costs and/or solutions? The short is 27 minutes in length.

I would be happy if you could help me!

    Best Regards,

    Matteo Cocco
