  1. Hello, I'm thinking about buying these lenses for my Arriflex 16SB ( Schneider 16mm, Schneider 25mm and Schneider 50mm). Didn't find much information about them on the internet. How do they compare to other similar lenses. Do they tend to be soft? (wide open?). Just looking for some advice. Regards, Michael
  2. thank you for your replays. I'm still busy with reading the article. Will post again after I finished reading it and hopefully understand most of it....
  3. Why do I get bigger circles of confusion (narrower DOF) with a bigger image plane than I get with a smaller image plane. The DOF mainly depends on the f stop used, right? How much matters the focal length? Does an image shot on 16 mm with a 25 mm lens look the same beside the DOF as an image with a 50 mm lens shot on 35 mm. Why is the DOF narrower on 35 mm. It would be very nice if somebody could explain the relations between image size, focal length and circle of confusion. Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand what I trying to ask.
  4. Hi, I'm looking into a good tripod for an Arriflex 16S/B. I'm interested in a Sachtler Tripod because I think they are of very good quality. I was thinking about the DV-6SB/2D head and the DA-75/2D or DA-75L Tripod. Do you think they work well with the Arriflex? Any other ideas? ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...goryNavigation/ and http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...goryNavigation) Thanx Michael
  5. Hi, Has anyone any experience with duallcamera.com? I'm thinking about sending my Arriflex to duallcamera.com for service and to add a video tap. They seem to be fine to me (they answered my e-mail very promptly :)) but I don't know much about them. Any experience? Regards, Michael
  6. Thanx for the replay. How did you insert the rods into the hot shoe mount? Can you give me a hint (URL) to somebody who sells Van Diemen matte boxes? I searched google but didn't find much. I was looking into the cavision products ---> http://www.cavision.com/pictures/Arri16ST/Arri16ST.htm. I was thinking about combining it with a handle. What do you think about it?
  7. Hi, I'm looking for a good mattebox for my Arriflex 16S/B with some filter stages. What would you recommend me. I was looking into the arriflex universal mattebox but I don't know where to find one and if it's any good compared to others. Any suggestions, links etc...? Regards, Michael
  8. Hi, How do you usually calculate the sensitivity to set if a filter cuts 1/x of a stop. I mean, if I have a 400 ASA film and a filter I use takes 1/3 of a stop then I know that I have to set the filmspeed to 320. The math for this would be: 200 x 2^(2/3), right? Isn't there an easier way to do calculate it? I hope you understand what I mean, sorry for my lack of English.... Regards, Michael
  9. I own an arri with the Apex exposure meter. I got it about six months ago and I can't wait to shoot with it. Still looking for an arriflex universal matte box...
  10. Yes I did and I think it's worth the money. It gives you a lot of information about camera movement, blocking and staging. Actually, I think you have to watch the DVD's several times to catch up everything... (I'm in a hurry, I have to go. I will write more later....)
  11. The sound of the shell hitting the ground distracted me too but I couldn't find any good soundclip without the sound of a shell. If anybody has one, please e-mail me, I would really appriciate it :) (I tried severall times to modify the soundclip but it didn't work out...)
  12. Hello, My new shortfilm "difference?" is now online ---> http://www.cordvision.com/deutsch/media.html What do you think about it? (It contains violence....) (H.264, 5.5MB) Regards, Michael
  13. Does anybody know from where to get a video tap for an arriflex 16st? Does it even exist? Regards, Michael
  14. I never owned an Arriflex ST so I don't know what I have to look after if I want to buy one. Does this one look ok to you? Is there any damage that can be seen in the picture? What might it be worth? Regards, Michael
  15. Thank you for the fast answer. I already knew this site but it's only about attachments to your regular lens. I think this has many disadvantages since you have to focus with your regular lens and the attachment (there's only one exception). And there's also a big problem with vignetting. I'm also not sure if the lenses on ebay have a c-mount. The lens mount on these lenses looks much lager in diameter than a c-mount, am I wrong? Are there any anamorph lenses (not attachments) for 16mm cameras with a c-mount? Wouldn't this be the best solution. A beaulieu 7008 with an anamorph lens and a video tap would be very nice for filming low budget shortfilms :)
  16. I would like to shoot an anamorph picture with my beaulieu 7008 pro with an aspect ratio between 1:2 and 1:2.7. I read quite a bit about anamorphic attachments but I didn't find the "perfect" solution yet. I would like to be able to focus during shooting without repositioning the attachment all the time. There also seem to be some problems with vignetteing in wide angle shots. I'm looking for a way to be able to shoot like I would do it with a normal lens except that I get an anamorph image. An attachment seems not to be a good solution. Are there any anamophic lenses with a c-mont for super8. Could I use an anamphic 16mm lens with my beaulieu? Are there any suggestion which lens (zoom/prime) might work? I'm just looking for a solution to get the best anamorphic image possible without having to deal with focusing problems etc. Regards, Michael
  17. I know, but it's far to much. You can't even get something in focus properly. On my other Beaulieu 6008 the ground glass looks much cleener. Same on my SLR camera. If I just could it open...
  18. my biggest problem is that I can't open the case. Too bad :(
  19. I'm taking about the ground glass. Isn't the ground glass and the focus screen the same? Sorry for my bad English. I tried to find out how to open the Camera but I coulden't find any tutorial on this.
  20. Hello everybody, I just bought a Beaulieu 6008 S super8 camera. Everything seems to be ok except the *focus screen". It looks nice and clear as long as the iris is wide open. If I start to close it down to f22, a *pattern" (looks like dirt) becomes visible on the focus screen. If I open the iris again, everything looks clean. Is this normal? I can't focus properly if the iris isn't fully open. Does anyone know if I can clean the focus screen by myself and how? Tutorial? Have a nice day... Michael PS: I'm sorry for my bad English. ---- www.cordvision.com
