We have a data scanner facility, but we are not happy with the sound part. We are now searching for a sound capture device that can read the film sound track (with optical head), transfer the sound into digital format without losing quality (i.e. if the original is 5.1, the end format also needs to be 5.1), and record. The films are of feature type, varied in format, and many are aged. Is there a turnkey device that can do all these (but for sound only)? We heard of a name called MAGARA but I cannot find any information on the web.
Please could anyone in the know help to point me into the right direction.
