  1. I've a question with regard to the effect of using widers lenses.

If you consider the left-right of your frame as the x axis, and bottom-top as the y axis,

Does your field of view increase in equal amounts for both x and y when you use wider lenses?

Or do you gain more on the x axis than you do on the y?

    Many thanks in advance

    Peter.

  2. Good day all,

I'm trying to figure out how to avoid flare if the light source is in shot - like for example a candle that the character is walking around with.

Does anyone have any tips or is there a filter that helps reduce flare?

    Many thanks.

  3. Hello

    Thanks for your time.

I need to light a candelit scene, where the light either comes entirely from candle sources, or appears to come entirely from candle sources. (Links are to reference images)

I am to be shooting 7D with:

    14mm F 2.8

    35mm F 1.4

    50mm F 1.4

    85mm F 1.8

    100mm F 2.8

    135mm F 2.0

Do you think candles could provide enough light without pushing the iso too much?

Or would I need to light it and make it appear motivated from the candles? Any tips or tricks to achieve this?

    Or any suggestions.

Anything that you think could prove helpfull

    Thank you so much

  4. Hello

I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere where I could see an image of a scene and then look at the the lighting floor plans for the scene.

This would be a great help to learn about how proffessionals light.

    Thank you in advance

  5. Hi All,

I'm working as 1st AC for the first time on a very small indie shoot. I realise that during the gear check I am expected to run various lens tests and I am not too familiar with this.

I know of the Harp test, and to test for calibration - what other tests are there? What should I look for?

    Thanks in advance
