Anthony, I totally agree. Scanning is the only part of the process that is really cost prohibitive for me. I'm trying to build a diy film scanner for that very reason.

Not to brag, but I live a just couple blocks from Kodak in Hollywood, so I just walk over and buy my film directly. It's very reasonable, quick, and they're really nice. And I've never had an issue just picking up one or two rolls. It's a real shame everyone can't get film as easily as I do.

Its not reliable or predictable, but keep checking Craigslist too. I just picked up a 1014xls + 4 rolls of film for $100. The film's sweet too -- some plus-x and some 64T!

Just as a followup, my 1014xl-s had no problem with the same cartridge that stalled my 310xl. I'm guessing it's probably a camera issue and not a Kodak issue, but the 310xl has no problem with Tri-x. But whatever, I'm happy as long as they still make the stuff!

Just for the record, this definitely happens with my Canon 310xl as well. No problems in my Minolta XL400 or Sankyo CME-1100. I just picked up a 1014xls today too, so I'll check it out tomorrow.
Add me to the list of people done with Pro8mm. Maybe, just maybe.

I use them for processing and I've always been happy. And they're the cheapest I've found. But again, that's for process only.
