  2. There was a 235 for sale on ebay with no mags or batteries a month ago. Not sure if it sold. The seller was called gido90.

Film camera prices crashed to their lowest around 2015 because everyone thought it was obsolete technology. It was so little used (especially print stocks which used to be the projection media) that fuji folded its motion picture manufacturing, and all the labs began to close, and without labs cameras become paperweights, and their prices reflected that. As digital cinema became dominant people started to realise that it wasn't an entirely superior technology, just an alternative one with both advantages and disadvantages. New companies salvaged lab equipment, kodak signed deals to stave of bankruptcy, and demand for film cameras is highest in a decade.

  3. Stunning glass throughout. One owner from new. Late model, late serial number grey body with original PL mount.

This lens was off the charts on optical support’s brand new projector, it outresolves the LPM measures, is bang on centre and tracks perfectly, mechanics feel ideal.

    Front and rear caps included.

Asking 3500gbp, plus vat in the EU!

Message me for more photos and details. All offers considered.

    Hello,

    I'm looking for a Canon 8-64mm t2.4 OR 7-64mm t2.6 OR 6.6-66mm t2.7.

I'm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. For tax and shipping concerns a lens currently inside the EU would be preferable - but I could pay for shipping from overseas if the price is right.

Let me know what you've got!

    Best,

  9. Early days but feelers out on this. Theres a chance i wont sell if a rental house here can do consignment with good prospects. But otherwise time to move on.

Full kit, PAL. Includes basically everything for a full rental suite but no 2-perf movement, ST mags, or side modules (timing shift box, lens data system, etc). Its kind of a pure LT kit with none of the compatible ST-oriented accessories. The shoulder pad is version 2 for steadimag use, rather than shoulder mag use.

Most parts are either very good or near mint condition. Body looks low miles. There are a fair few parts with heavy use though, including one of the viewfinders and the old school work light.

Looking for 35k with worldwide delivery possible, and due to rental commitments 3 weeks notice may be required before delivery, TBD.

When you say strong video tap, would an Arri 35-III with video tap viewfinder be adaptable to a modern production crew provided the video camera was state of the art (it's a noisy MOS camera, I know, so no good for sync sound)?

Not if they can get a 435, which they can

  11. 49 minutes ago, Jon O'Brien said:

Good to know. I like this camera as it is small, comparatively light, yet quiet. And well, can one admit it? It looks so professional!

The only cameras going up in value are production cameras, i.e. stuff used on feature films currently. Obsolete cameras will probably stay where they are. Without a strong video tap theres a limit to how useful they are.

  12. 21 hours ago, Chris Burke said:

What happened to all the cameras?

the rental houses got bored of having them lie around, they all went to private owners, and now film is hot again and the rental houses are trying to buy them back... along with everyone else.

  13. Everything Charles says is on par.

I understand the allure of the 416, it is the "last" super 16mm camera to be made. However, film cameras are film cameras. If you have a well working one, the only things that matter are; glass/size/weight/sound level.

I dont disagree with you, but again you should probably point out that you own a fleet of Aaton cameras before offering your 'impartial' opinion...

For me, i'd take an aaton too. But the 416s have the value they do because they're more appropriate for feature films, take standard 24v everything and put out standard 24v RS, work with a fleet of arri accessories and are still supported by munich. The people paying 30-60k for 416s aren't stupid. They just have the means and accept no substitutes.
