I'm not sure what you mean by clarity or what the problem is that you are having exactly. Lighting is a good place to start looking as Brian suggests.
The other thing you could try is magic lantern. There is a version of Magic Lantern for the 650D that allows you to record raw.
This will allow you to have more control in grading and improves the bit depth out of the camera too. It can also help with the amount of resolution that is resolved as not only does the Mpeg4 compression degrade the video a lot but canon also do all sorts of scaling and other things in the camera that reduces the resolution of the recordings. To such an extent in fact, that it's been said that even the newer Canon 5D Mark III is barely able to resolve 720p. Recording raw with magic lantern allows you to sidestep a lot of these problems although it doesn't reduce problems with moire etc from the line skipping that goes on.
It's a free download so it could be worth a try!
I heard that magic lantern has dots that pop up over video after switchin them from raw do you know if they fixed that yet. I notice that the canon 7d give sharp images with great detail and makes the blacks look little glossy. I heard of magic lantern and hsve been checking there sight occasionally to see if they came out with a more stable build .
Heres a video from a guy called Dave about how to install it on the 650d:
You will probably need to buy much faster memory cards and you will have to research that but it probably beats buying a new camera!

Ok thx everyone appreciate the help!!!

Getting closer. I'd say desaturate a bit more, bring the mids down a tad and push a little towards blue. Play around with it until it matches to your taste.
Try also pushing the overal clour temperature cooler.
Where's the original image from?
Big overhead source perhaps neutrally balanced color?
ok i think i got it let me know if i should run with this or give it another try!!

You will need editing software that has a three way color correcting tool or a third party plug in. This will allow you to control the Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights.
I use sony vegas pro 12 and I got magic bullet installed ill give it a try and upload a an attachment of my footage please give me feedback on my results thx

Thx for the replys ...but I can go about dropping the contrast and desaturate the footage. But how would I boost the blacks ?
That is a low contrast desaturated look done mostly in the color grade with the blacks boosted a bit. It was most likely shot in some sort of log or flat curve on an overcast day.

Try using a bounce for fill instead of another light. It'll be far easier to control where the light goes if you're not using the umbrellas. Based on the photos of Johnny Depp you linked, you might even think about just using a soft key that lights about 3/4 of the subject's face and not using fill at all, even hanging some black cloth to stop the rogue light bounce if you have to because of the white room. Try looking at Roger Deakins' booklight technique, it's a pretty cheap way to get more desirable lighting when you don't necessarily have the correct tools for the job. If you want really contrasty, you might think about lowering your ISO or stopping down your aperture so that you can light for the highlights and get a better falloff to black.
Also, consider using a different sort of diffusion. Umbrella lights really blast light everywhere because of their shape. Something like normal diffusion paper or a silk closer to your subject may give you less spill and allow you to control the light better. Umbrellas can be overkill sometimes if you're trying to light carefully.
Thanks alot man i find this very useful and bouncing the light seems to work for me !!

Soft sources often require very large black flags to control them-- often blacking a whole side of a room to control kick-back off of walls ect. In a close up it's a bit easier since you can fly the solid in right on the edge of frame opposite the talent.
Thx for the reply im working with little space so light might be to strong on the subject and he has a white wall behind him while he is sitting at a table. I have one light behind him for shoulder back light and one in front as a fill light but the fill light spreads way pass the subject hitting the back wall behind him ...do u think I have to tinker with my shutter speed, iso, and appeature ?

Im having troble controlling my two continues shoot through umbrella lights. I want to create a dark shadow and nice highlight look but the umbrella lights fill the entire room when I turn them on. Example below I wanna do something light this. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=webhp&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=FUvuUomlK4Ss2wWq_4HoDg&q=dark+shadows+and+highlights+cinema&oq=dark+shadows+and+highlights+cinema&gs_l=mobile-gws-serp.3...79665.93790.0.95132.22.17.2.0.0.2.346.2916.0j6j6j2.14.0....0...1c.1.32.mobile-gws-serp..10.12.2812.GmVpNaMV_dA#biv=i%7C91%3Bd%7Ckhvy1CUMvLT4dM%3A

If high yelllow was the look he was going for then its a good grade. But if he is a beginner seeking help I would not recommend uping the yellows would tell him to keep it basic and the cigarette is color graded yellow.
-
Nice grading skills but I think the yellows should get turned down....so it will look more natrual and realistic. If you look at her cigarette its also yellow turn it down a few notches my opinion.
