  1. There are some Tetenal C-41 kits that only use a few baths. I guess these may be practical to develop ECN-2. Of course the anti-halination backing is still an issue. Henry.
  2. No luck so far. If anyone has any recommendations on where to source parts for a 35mm Bell and Howell Model D printer I would be very greatful. (The Takita is essentially the same as a Bell and Howell). Thanks From, Henry.
  3. Excellent information. I see in the Kodak technical info that it states: "If raw stock must be kept longer than 3 months, freezing at -18° to -23°C (0 to -10°F) is recommended." I wondered what the ice crystal concern is with freezing...emulsion damage? Can it be reduced by using silica gel sachets in the film can? Thanks From, Henry.
  4. Thanks for all the excellent advice and information. Your feedback has inspired me to ask a further two queries.... *Is it possible to develop Kodak 2382 in B&W chemicals for a truely B&W print? I guess that the results will be poor. *Is it possible to film with regular colour 35mm negative MP stock and then print a B&W image onto 2382 ? My guess is that colour correction would be very complex...is it possible? Thanks From, Henry.
  5. Hi, Is it possible to obtain good results by printing a black and white negative (eg Kodak 5231) onto colour print film (eg Kodak 2383)? The motivation is that 2383(Colour) is much cheaper than 5302 (B&W). Thanks From, Henry.
  6. Hi, Can anyone give me some advice on the Takita Mfg Continuous film Printer? -Does anyone have a copy of the manual that they could copy or scan for me? -Are spares still available? Who could I ask about spares? Thanks From, Henry.
  7. Hi, I am looking for an Oxberry animation camera. Also interested in spares, pegbars, etc. Please e-mail me at the following address if you can help: Cinefan@gmail.com Thanks From, Henry.
  8. If we are talking 35mm I would have thought there would be a Chinese manufacturer...does anyone know? Also for 35mm you could use the MACO, Ilford and Agfa still picture films with a camera such as an Arri II. (These cameras don't have a registration pin.) I have only seen 100' rolls for sale but that is more than enough for an experiment. Henry.
  9. Hi, Does anyone know if Fuji motion picture film has a remjet or equivalent backing? I am looking at some processing of film using a Morse G-3 tank and would favour Fuji film for this experiment if there is no backing to remove. Any information on this? Thanks From, Henry.
  10. Hi, I am planning to use an Agenieux 35-140mm F3.5 zoom lens for cine use. I am familiar with still camera zoom lenses where the aperture changes as the lens is zoomed. With the aperture wide open on the Agenieux zoom lens does the lens remain at a constant F3.5 at all focal lengths? Obviously this would make cinematography easier as no aperture change is required mid zoom :-) Is this a standard feature of motion picture zooms? Thanks From, Henry.
  11. I was told that the correct oil for the Arri is called "Chronosynth 1-8" and that the correct grease is "Isoflex LDS 18" Any verification of this would be greatly appreciated! Henry.
  12. Hi, I am looking for a flat base adapter for an Arri IIB or Arri IIC. My e-mail is: Cinefan@gmail.com Thanks, Henry.
  13. I guess you mean a flat base? I noticed this nice item on e-bay (7563383656). Is this the approach you had in mind? Thanks From, Henry.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Yes the lens is the Arri standard mount. I have heard that the Arri standard mount is weaker than many others. The camera that the zoom would be used on is an Arri 2B or C. It has the handheld motor rather than the flatbase. Is the lens support that I am looking for the same as is used for the ultrascope lenses? Thanks From, Henry.
  15. Hi, Can someone point me towards a picture of a long lens support to suit the Arri 2B/C ? Does a small lens like a 35-140mm need a support? Thanks From, Henry.
  16. I have a manual please contact me at: radioencryption@hotmail.com Henry.
  17. Hi, I was thinking of using this film in an Arri 2A/B/C so I don't think that the different perforations would make any difference. I am attracted to Kodachrome as it has colours that I like and it has an archival reputation that is superior to other colour film. Now I just have to find some practical lengths :-) Henry.
  18. Thanks for all these great responses. If I manage to obtain "acceptable" results I will let everyone know. Thanks From, Henry.
  19. Hi, Is it possible to buy 35mm Kodachrome in lengths suitable for cinematography? I'm only looking for small quantities. (I have found a lab that can process it.) Thanks From, Henry.
  20. John, Thankyou for your reply. These tanks are usually classed as a "rewind tank". Is there any Kodak literature that deals with rewind tanks? I haven't been able to locate anything, probably because these tanks are based on an antique concept. For others on this list that are not familiar with rewind tanks they use two reels that are immersed in the chemistry. The film is rapidly wound from one reel to the other and then back again. This means however that not all of the film is being exposed to the chemicals for the same duration. The first portion of the film will touch the developer well before the last few feet (depends on how quickly you wind the film). See this link for more info: http://www.marriottworld.com/instruct3/mor...th_pictures.htm I am very interested in processing time/temperature recommendations for processing. Due to the issues with obtaining uniform processing in these tanks I wonder if longer processing times will even out any issues? Thanks From, Henry.
  21. Has anyone ever tried using a Morse G-3 tank to develop your own film? Did it work? What timings did you use? These tanks will process 100' of film and pop up on e-bay all the time. They sell well so someone must be using them! Thanks From, Henry.
  22. Hi, I have obtained an ancient Arri light. (See URL's below) Can anyone tell me how the bracket is used to mount the light? Is it used with a studio rail? Any ideas about the maximum wattage this fitting can take? http://home.exetel.com.au/ht/Arri%20light2.jpg http://home.exetel.com.au/ht/Bracket.jpg Thanks From, Henry.
  23. Hi, I am looking for a Moviola upright editing machine user or service manual. Please e-mail me at: Cinefan@gmail.com Thanks From, Henry.
  24. Hi, I am looking for some lamps as per the attached photo. I'm after 500W or 600W. If you can help please e-mail me at: cinefan@gmail.com Thanks From, Henry.
  25. Hi, I am looking to buy a 35mm upright Moviola editing machine (or similar) in Australia. This is for private use editing some short films. Can anyone help me with this?? My e-mail is: CineFan@gmail.com Thanks From, Henry. PS: I am also looking for any manuals for these as well.
