what I was planning on doing was buying another zoom reflex lens that goes down to 10mm, if it exist. I would not actually use it to shoot, but as a reference. I would then place my nicer 10mm set lens for the actual shooting. Does anybody know if there is such a lens (zoom reflex)? I am very certain that I will need a nice, sharp wide-angle lens for a lot of shooting. This seems to be the only option unless I attatched some kind of viewfinder to the side of the camera, which doesn't seem like that great of an idea.

I just bought a Frezzolin lw-16 camera for $400. I was told it is in working condition. I can't find a manual anywhere. I need any and all information anyone has on this camera. I would really like to know If I am able to get a lens that is not the 12-120mm. I would really like to put a 10mm lens on it. Is there an adapter for standard C mount? I need to know everything from opening the camera and magazines to if it uses 1R film. Where can I get batteries and a power cord (I've heard you can get them from frezzi's website). Thank you in advance.
  3. I got a manual and it is the pressure foot. Thanks a lot!
  4. This may be a stupid question, but nevertheless I'm going to ask it. My B and H has a metal thing where the shutter opens and closes. It seems that it is where the film is supposed to be exposed. Is this supposed to be there or not.
  5. I am very ignorant when it comes to recording audio for film. I have a frezzi that is crystal controlled. I was wondering if I used a clapboard if I could record audio straight onto my computer. If not, I'm guessing I'll have to get a machine like a nagra, dat, or MD sync recorder. If there is a cheaper solution please tell me. If I used my computer couldn't I just slow down or speed up the audio to match? PS I already have the computer, so it wouldn't be costing me any money.
  6. Thanks. I really thought people were going to say my lights were useless. My only concern is what about a primary like a 1k. Will one of these be necessary for well balanced light. I thought of shooting 200 speed reversal color film 35mm for test and then converting it to black and white in Photoshop. Is this practial? Thanks a lot for all the info already. I would also like to know if there's a good book that can show me different light set ups with pictoral examples. I would also like to know what the late Sven Nykvist often did in terms of lighting with the faith trilogy. Thanks.
  7. I'm working on my first short and know close to nothing about lighting. I'm shooting kodak tri-x reversal. These are the lights I have. 1. 4 different 650 watt lights made for super 8 cameras 2. 2 sets of coupled photo flood lights 3. I would like to test my lighting situations with a still camera. Should I buy ASA 200 35mm film (black and white of course). I know this is not very many lights, but I also want to keep the lighting very simple. The general visual concepts come close to that of Bergmans "Through a Glass Darkly", the "Silence", or "Lolita" (Kubrick). These are the main questions I have. 1. There will be a silhouetted wide angle shot at magic hour on a lake. Where should I meause light from with my spot meter. My actors will be very far away. Much like the shot in the Godfather II. 2. is it worth it to use these lights 3. Is there a way to use a softbox or umbrella with any of these lights. If this is all too vague tell me and I'll do my best to help. I'd like to use these lights if at all possible. I am very broke. I will replace them if it is completely naive to even try. I figured it may be possible to use cheaper lights since were shooting in black and white and light can be more exaggerated, but I could be very wrong.
  8. I have two comeras. A nizo S800 and a bolex 155 macrozoom.
  9. I've just shot two test rolls of film. Do I simply just take them out of the camera and then send it for processing? Does it need to be taken out in a dark room? Does it need to be mailed in a particular way? I would prefer the responder to email the answer to me as well if it isn't too much trouble. leeyoung@email.com
  10. I have a nizo 800. I am going to use a sound device that hooks into the pc flash socket of my camera that I will buy off of super8sound.com. Does a computer, specifically a macintosh G4 record sound at a constant rate. I'm assuming it does seeing that many professional recording are done on them, but I just wanted to make sure.
