pretty good stuff. I like most of it. I would suggest shortening your reel...too much of the same thing can give the appearance that you don't have a lot of experience.
-
good quality. so-so composition. but the idea is pretty cheesy.

I've gotta be honest man!................. imagery was REAALLLYYY bad, I thought it looked like a cheezy soap opera. some shots couldve flown..like the one by the window with her looking out, but move the camera around to see out the window or something, everything is so tripoddy! good luck on your next endeavor!

I thought the video was just OK! Nothing new, nothing stood out, aesthetics were somewhat poor, but the video was done pretty well. I guess I'm still not impressed with even the HVX, video is video!! They're still a long ways from video looking like film. I'll stick to my 16mm cameras for now! Decent work though! :)

what r u talkin bout? Flash is Flash! If you want flash content, you've gotta use Flash! And, I recommend it also, cause your website looks like HTML crap!, I've seen alot worse HTML sites, but its still crap! Sorry, dont mean to be rude, but I've always felt that honesty will push us as artists. Good luck

hey, I'm not very internet/compression savvy...so I'm trying to get better at how to display my work online. Yours looks like good quality...like a movie trailer online. How did you compress your trailer--with what codec--and how big is the file--? thanks for your help. Your work looks pretty darn good besides the audio. well done!

My reel, I need to cut shots
seth christian replied to Travis Cline's topic in Jobs, Resumes, and Reels
yes. too many cu head shots...mix it up more. however, I disagree with the comment about taking out the black&white into the man in alley....I think it only seems a little out of place due to the placement, not illiminating it....just put the man running (color shots) first to work into the character smoother, than I think it would be fine. other than those things.........FANTASTIC REEL!! is everything 35mm? -
here's my honest opinion.... positives: I think the location was good. You had some really well done shots from certain angles and what not. The imagery with the girl was very nice! Wide angle shot of band was very cool, cool...should've done more of it! Obviously took the attention and time to set the scenes with the girl and band..great preparation man'! negatives: The two atmospheres (band location/the bed with girl and stuff) didn't blend with each other at all, its like there were two completely different stories. I couldn't define any story to be honest...and thats important with a genre like this where you cant hear any words. Some of the video wasn't sinked up with the song very well, like the drummer..which is important to make it look professional. I applaud your efforts and decent job on lighting, but your story MUST BE TOLD!...OR at least your imagery HAS TO MIX WELL! grade: B- your short trailer though........is FANTASTIC!!!!! great imagery and creativity...weird, but intriguing. grade: A
