  1. (For some reason, the Forum software lopped off the last bit of the title. It was supposed to be: "The Vision Research Phantom V1610") http://www.visionresearch.com/Products/High-Speed-Cameras/v1610/ At one million frames per second, a second's shooting would take over 11 hours to view at 24fps! Actually the new Nikon 1 J3 camera can shoot 320 x 240 at 1,200 frames per second, not bad for a $700 camera plus lens package! Interestingly, it can shoot the equivalent of 4K stills up to 20 frames per second (admittedly only in 1 second bursts). That's not that far below what the original Red One could do. How far off is 24fps 4K capture in cheap DSLRs?
