arjaneekels
We found an interesting problem while shooting slow motion with the Viper. Hopefully someone can advise? We shot a feature with the Viper and an SRW1 on HDCamSR on scope squeeze mode. For slow motion we shot one tape without the scope squeeze mode in 60i (so in 16x9 for post crop to scope). This worked fine in post making the slow motion. During shooting there was a desire to have the scope squeeze mode on the 60i material as well. This was investigated and it should be possible to shoot 60i with scope squeeze mode if the Viper was set to 60i/23,98fps. While processing this tape in post we discovered we hold a tape with a 23,98fps pull down within the 60i material. This tape is therefore useless as slow motion material. We now assume that the CCD is outputting 23,98fps, the Viper then converts that in 60i output which is recorded on tape. Does any one have a similar experience when shooting 60i in scope mode? Or knows that assumption may be right? Please advise. Best wishes, Arjan Eekels Posted, The Netherlands
