Sony 750p without lighting???!

Hi everybody,

I'm making my first short film in February and until recently planned to shoot on DV Cam (on my trusty old PD-150)...

However, recently the chance has come up to potentially shoot on a Sony 750p...

Before I pursue the 750 with all my waking thoughts, I would really like to establish that the 750 is going to suit my needs and hope that you guys can let me know your thoughts.

I basically want to film documentary style, with a tiny crew and without artificial lighting (50/50 mix of int & ext).

Furthermore I want to shoot the whole thing through a wide prime lens & generally try and get a very authentic, journalistic, 'newsy' feel (with the camera stripped down to it's bare basics).

The net effect I'm after, which I simply don't know whether to be achievable or not with a 750, is that of a big old camera that's been thrown over over it's operator's shoulder and is capturing high res footage in a real life environment (naturalistic performances & untouched locations). A bit like war photography...

Am I crazy, would it work? Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Many thanks, John.
