Robert Bevis Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Pardon the hyper-specific question, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced DMG mix panels (specifically the SL1 and Mini) doing a color calibration cycle every single time they start up? With both my SL1 and Mini mix, every time there's a power cycle to the controller and head, the panel will do a sequence of flashing what seems like each color diode, before then resetting back to whatever the previous dimmer settings were before it lost power. I've scoured the internet about this issue and can't find a single post about it. I've been speaking to Rosco about it and after quite a long back and forth where no one seemed to know why this was happening, they said it's a function of the earliest generation of these panels -- which was later changed to only do this whenever a new head is detected by the controller to calibrate the drivers, then never again. But my units do this every single time, which is obviously super disruptive on a professional set, especially in tight spaces with actors, and generally just adds an element of chaos every time power is re-patched to either of these units (imagine basically a bad disco effect for a few seconds before going back to normal every time the light powers up, obviously not a good look for myself, my gaffer, our board op, etc). Luckily Rosco has been very communicative thus far, and I'm really hopeful for some kind of service solution as I just got these units recently and love everything else about them -- but I'm mainly curious if anyone else has experienced this? Am I alone? Haha
