Ryan Alexander Huang Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) Hey everyone, I recently acquired a Zeiss Distagon HFT 35mm f/1.4 to have it cinemodded. This is the Rollei HFT version with the 6-blade triangular-shaped aperture like its Super Speed counterpart. It quickly became clear that off-the-shelf QBM-to-E mount adapters weren't going to cut it. This lens has a spring-loaded aperture, and none of the adapters push the pin far enough to open the aperture all the way at a given f-stop. My main priority was to get the aperture declicked or have the mount converted entirely. I was a little surprised when I sent the lens to Duclos for their cinemodding service, and they reported back that they have absolutely no way of declicking the aperture or converting the mount on this lens. Ultimately they were only able to add the focus gear and front ring. A set of these same lenses recently sold on eBay, and the seller performed an aperture declick and a PL mount conversion himself. I know those aren't the only Rollei HFT conversions that I've seen done in the past. Wondering if anyone knows of someone in the States who can do this? Would appreciate any leads!
