Julianthebruce
I was reading the official panasonic specs on the HVX200, and it says that the filter diameter is 82mm. I imagine that this is not a typo, and that panasonic has decided to change the filter size. Seeing as the college i work for has a nice 72mm telephoto converter, i am trying to find info about a step down ring that would let me use 72mm filters on the 82mm HVX200. I am not to worried about getting a vinetting effect with the telephoto converter, but with a 72mm wideangle lense and a step down ring vinetting could be a problem. if anyone has experience with step down ring or knows why panasonic has changed their thread size, please write back. Ed Nyankori
time to start hunting ebay. after this camera hits the market you'll see a sharp increase in conversion parts. bhphoto.com should have it in stock if you dont feel like chasing down the part.. Premium Member Brian Wells Posted December 16, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted December 16, 2005 if anyone ... knows why panasonic has changed their thread size, please write back. The HVX has a different lens altogether. Basically, the camera comes with a 0.94x wide angle adapter and a 1.22x teleconverter built-in . Thus, the outside diameter was built larger to accommodate. Hope this helps...
