Guest 3ldfilms
Hi all... I'm wondering, can anyone comment on the battery life of buying a new CP-16R battery versus getting an old one re-celled? Both in terms of overall lifespan and how long you can shoot before needing to charge the battery. I've heard the recells are better but I'd love to hear it from you guys. Premium Member Luke Prendergast Posted December 19, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted December 19, 2005 A re-cell and a new battery are the same thing. Apart from the cells it's just a case and a connector.
Mark Schlicher
Sorry, late to the party, but... 1. Recelled batteries may last a little longer, because newer cell designs have somewhat higher capacities...something like 15-20 percent. 2. A battery in good condition, running a tuned-up camera, should last at least ten mags.
Mike Rizos
I don't think CP batteries are available new anymore. They are all recelled. I recently bought one from Visual Products for $175. Whitehouse offers the same deal. They will last at least 1600 feet. That's the amount I ran so far, and still battery shows strong on the in camera tester. As far as it's lifespan, I would think 100-200 charges(that's a complete guess though).
