JimMcGee
Hi, I want to recell one of my Aaton onboard batteries. I thought they were C's but they're smaller. Is there a such thing as a B battery? If so, does anyone know where I can find peplacement cells in order to rebuild the battery? Many Thanks, Jim
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted January 15, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted January 15, 2004 Hi, The only place I know of is RS in the UK (http://www.rswww.com) There's almost certainly somewhere a lot nearer to you (Like, not on the other side of the planet) but if you were to have a scout around there you could probably find out what you're looking for, since they have an excellent, enormously comprehensive website. Mitch Gross
They're not called "B" cells, they're called "sub-C." I believe that Panasonic makes the cells that Abel Cine Tech in NYC uses to recell the Aaton bricks. I let them do it for me because the rate is reasonable enough and they'll usually throw in some other service work at the same time. If you really want to do it yourself I imagine you could just call and ask them what cells they use.
Kevin Pittman
You might want to call up TNR Technical in Florida at 800-346-0601. I just had 2 aaton batts recelled (Nicads) for $45 each. Which is by far the best deal I found. Kevin Pittman
